Proper Images of Women
One of the main aspects about my self-reflection that I felt most adminent about, was my need to be a proper role model for young women. I feel that the older I get, the more atune I am to the public images of women that are bombarded at young women. I feel that this is a huge issue for the development of confident young women. I eel that those young women who lack self-confidence are more at risk of developing bad habits (smoking, drug use, underage drinking, and teen pregnancy). If young women are shown what real women are, they can begin to distinguish between a real, confident woman and the hollywood image of a woman.

This is a good start, Heather, but what question can you develop from this that will lead your action research? I see an issue and an interest, but I'm not sure what you will seek to change or improve through an action research project. Where's the question? Do you want to consider ways female teachers can mentor female students? I would suggest you narrow this idea down into something that you could attempt to do in the classroom and create your question out of that. For example, do female students gain confidence when mentored by a female teacher in an after school setting? (Remember, you will need to think about how you will create a study to measure something like this. What will you use for data and how will you get your data?) Use your literature review to see what's been done to help girls self-esteem and self-confidence.
